You have seen beach houses right, but have you ever seen a portable one? Here's one. The 'Whangapoua Sled House' by Crosson Clarke Carnachan Architects is one such portable beach house that sits on the shores of Coromandel Peninsula in New Zealand. The 495 square foot sled house is designed on two thick wooden sleds for movement back up the site or across the beach and onto a barge.
The design is simple, clean and elegant and the eco-friendly. The beach house has been designed in a way to give ultimate relaxation to its dwellers, whether or on a holiday or a break, this thing just absorbs and reflects the inner peace and calmness.
Please don't expect that it would fight with the tides for you but it can easily accomodate a family of five in a kitchen/dining/living area, a bathroom and two sleeping zones and the children's accommodating a three tiered bunk. Since the design is portable, it is perfectly sustainable too.
